EDUCATION

Strive for Five: Creating a Culture of Success

Thursday, March 16th
5:00pm - 6:15pm

The high five, a seemingly simple gesture, often erupts spontaneously after a victory or moment of hard-earned success. Learn to create a culture that supports creating these celebrations for yourself, the teams you lead, and the events you coordinate. The lessons and strategies presented are rooted in our experience teaching thousands of people to juggle and supported by research in the fields of positive psychology and neuroscience.

Why juggling? Because juggling is the perfect tool for processing ideas related to success, failure, and personal/professional growth. It literally represents the tension between keeping things up in the air and dropping the ball. Breaking down and drawing attention to the process, reveals valuable strategies to improve goal setting, resilience, innovation, and collaboration.

Nationally touring performing artist Paul Miller and award winning educator Dawn Daria of Flow Circus share their comedy juggling, improvisational antics, relevant research, and high energy to motivate, entertain, and inform.

Flow Circus harnesses the power of creative, playful flow to energize, excite, and enliven groups. We shake up the day to day just enough to provide a fresh perspective and inspiring results. But most importantly, we leave people feeling better than when they entered the room. See us in action at FlowCircus.com.

Nuts & Bolts

Friday, March 17th
7:45am - 8:15am
Session led by MPI-CC Social Media Committee

There’s a lot of buzz around social media these days, but are you up to speed on how to use the apps that are in place for MPI-CC? At the January meeting a new early morning session will be presented teaching members the ins and outs of social media within the chapter. This short 30 minute session that starts just before breakfast will cover a different social media app at each chapter meeting. The first session will include a summary of all the social media sites that the chapter uses and how to work the MPI-CC meeting app. You will learn how to download the app and log in as well as how to use the meeting app. At future sessions each social media outlet that the chapter uses will be covered (Twitter, Facebook, Instagram and Linkedin) where you will learn the applications and how to post your information to our chapter pages. You’ll also learn what’s appropriate to post on each app. Each session will finish by 8:15 am which will give you plenty of time for breakfast before the chapter business announcements begin.

MPI-CC Panel

Friday, March 17th
9am - 10:30am

Attendees can expect to gather further inspiration from the panel of fellow MPI-CC members surrounding the topic of “Building a Successful Team”. The Education Committee has assembled a panel of fellow MPI-CC members that have extensive experience in building and managing a successful team to effectively execute events or meet sells goals. A few of the panel questions will include “what are a few ways you foster a culture of success within your teams” and “how do you maintain positivity and encouragement under a stressful deadline?”.

Roundtables

Friday, March 17th
10:45am - 11:45am

Members will break into groups and share their own insights as we dive deeper into the topic of overcoming team differences in order to work effectively to complete deadlines. Everyone has had an experience overcoming a challenge within their team or executing an event. Sharing perspectives will allow attendees to further broaden their knowledge of how to best solve a team conflict to unite individuals and inspire creative collaboration.
